Trust & Safety
Property deals involve big money. Here is how JustGoRent helps you check a broker, and how to stay safe.
How verification works
1. Broker submits documents
The broker uploads their RERA registration certificate and a government photo ID. Landlords and sellers upload a photo ID and proof that they own the property instead (for example a property tax receipt, sale deed or an electricity bill in their name). Documents are stored privately and are never shown publicly.
2. Our team reviews them
We check that the documents are readable, match the broker's name and that the RERA number looks valid.
3. Badge is awarded
Only after approval does the profile show the greenVerified Broker badge with the date.
What the badges mean
Verified Broker, Landlord or Seller: identity and registration or ownership documents were reviewed and approved by our team.
Verification Pending: the broker has submitted documents; review is in progress.
Not Verified: no documents reviewed. Take extra care and verify independently.
A badge confirms identity and registration documents only. It is not a guarantee of any specific transaction.
Stay safe: buyer checklist
- Confirm the broker's RERA number on the official RERA portal.
- Check the project's own RERA registration, not just the broker's.
- Dealing directly with an owner? Ask for the ownership papers and match the name with their ID.
- Never pay a token or booking amount in cash, or before seeing ownership documents.
- Pay only to the builder or owner's bank account, never to a personal account you cannot verify.
- Visit the property in person and verify the seller's identity.
- Get every agreement and receipt in writing.
- Be cautious of prices far below market and of anyone creating urgency.
- Read recent client reviews and ask the broker for past client references.
See something wrong?
Every broker profile has a Report button. Reports are reviewed by our team and can lead to removal of the verified badge or the profile.
